Following the success of last year's Effective Revision workshops we have put four new sessions in the calendar, two for Junior Cert revision and two for 1st & 2nd year students.

Rated Research creator Brian McElhone has created this new study skills workshop focusing on how to break down textbook information, memorise notes and apply analytical answering methods in an interactive environment.

· Students work together in teams to break the information down to key concepts.
· Students then memorise these key concepts in their groups using the associative memory skills they have been taught.
· Finally the students do an exam question without their notes, using what they have memorised.

Training your memory should be a high priority going into any exam situation. Furthermore, developing a study strategy based on those memory techniques will ensure a prepared mind for any outcome or surprises in your tests. Rated Research is an award winning business which specialises in innovative educational techniques.

Brian McElhone says “Having struggled up through the educational system myself, I eventually began to focus on memory techniques to help me with my studies in Law and Political Science. The more I focused on these techniques the more I realised how helpful they would be for everyone.” Putting his career in law on hold he started a small business. He entered his ‘Innovative Education Idea’ into a competition and won a bursary in the ‘Kingston University London, Innovation Awards.’

As the name of the business suggests; it is not just memory techniques that are covered but also other approaches to revision and research. The seminars are interactive and fun and produce excellent Memory Solutions.

‘There was great energy in the workshop and the students really enjoyed it.’ Ms. A. McCarthy - Guidance Counsellor, Cork.

‘The seminar was excellent and the content was very interesting. Our students learned the techniques in a fun way and left the seminar with skills that will help them to learn.’ Ms. T. Kelly – Guidance Counsellor, Cork.

“These workshops are helpful, they give motivation to study and give new clever ideas to approach your studies”.- student

“Really good, really helps! Transformed my learning techniques!” – student
