Facial Surgery consultations and after care in Drogheda Ireland

A face is like a book of human emotions and experience, where every trouble leaves its mark. The years passed leave their imprints on your face that you would rather keep hidden from the stranger’s eyes. Surgical correction of problem facial areas can give you a renewed look and can help you get rid of troublesome facial imperfections. The Clinic “Grožio chirurgija” offers a broad range of services, surgeries, and procedures for facial correction, which are performed by highly skilled, qualified, and experienced surgeons.

The following specialists at our clinic provide consultations and perform surgeries:

Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is a procedure to remove excess skin or fatty deposits from the eyelids. This procedure restores a youthful and refreshed appearance to one’s face. Following this surgery, the face becomes obviously rejuvenated. The upper and lower eyelids can be corrected either during the same procedure or separately.

How Is the Surgery Performed?

The procedure is often performed under local anesthesia, and time in surgery is about 1 hour.

For upper eyelid surgery, an incision is made along the fold of the upper eyelid, following its natural contour. Through a parallel incision (the second one), excess skin is removed. During the surgery, fatty deposits can be removed as well.

During lower eyelid surgery, fatty deposits can be removed or redistributed. An incision most commonly is placed inside the lower eyelid (so-called transconjunctival approach); thus, this technique requires no external incision.

What Should Be Known After Surgery?

Following the surgery, due to swelling, some patients may experience difficulties closing their eyes, which may cause dry eye syndrome. Artificial tears or lubricating ointment relieve this complication.
Temporarily impaired vision can persist up to a few days.
The stitches are removed after 4–7 days.
After 2 weeks, the scars become barely visible. The bruising usually disappears within several weeks, while the swelling can persist longer.
