The Glen of Aherlow Winter Walking Festival is a 2 day event featuring 9 guided walks by the Galtee Walking Club on the Galtees and Slievenamuck Hills. The festival base is at the Aherlow House Hotel for registration. The opening night on Friday allows you to view routes, meet the guides and get in the spirit with your fellow walkers as well as enjoying music in the bar.
All walks are led by experienced members of the Galtee Walking Club, with a choice of A; B & C walks to suit all different levels. Enjoy the delights of the high Galtees or the lakes on the lower slopes. For the less adventurous the national loops on Slievenamuck may be for you!
The festival dinner on Saturday night is open to non-residents (please register for this on Saturday morning). A courtesy bus is available on Saturday night for non-residents from surrounding hotels, B&B's and the caravan park. Enjoy the Club Ceoil on Saturday night after dinner - bring your guitar, singing voice or even spoons to join in!

The festival welcomes groups, clubs and individual walkers to experience the delights of walking the scenic Glen of Aherlow in a winter setting.

Courtesy bus available on Saturday night to bring visitors together from surrounding guesthouses and B&Bs.

On Friday, January 27th a welcome evening at Aherlow House Hotel at 9pm with guest speakers and check out the routes and meet the guides for the weekend.

Registration opens 1 hour before the listed start time of each walk, please be punctual to accommodate bus transfers and your fellow walkers. All walkers must sign out at base after each walk. Discovery Maps 74 and 66
